Class rules

In today’s class we again got organised into groups and had to discuss class rules and write them out on a poster. (picture provided)

We organised into a group of four where we all contributed rules towards our grand poster.

For DO’S we input ‘Do complete the work,’ This is important for us to be able to progress in this course and ensure that we are completing our tasks. As a second one we put in ‘Do arrive on time.’ This is also important so that we are able to complete as much work as possible during the course of the day. It also shows that we are dedicated and are here to achieve. We then input and talked about focus and respect. These two are fairly important because they show that one is dedicated and ready to achieve on all levels.

For DONT’S we talked about, Don’t be late, Don’t disrupt the class and Don’t interrupt the teacher. These three are important in order to have a disciplined and functioning classroom. For a fourth rule we said Do NOT use your mobile in class, this is very important in order for people to listen and be attentive in the class and not disrupt or totally not involve themselves with the lesson.

On a final note we spoke about overall rules which was No smoking and No drugs. These two are very important in order for students to be actively involved in the class, and not on a different level.

How to learn ready

Today was my first day of college. We were organised into groups and asked to design a poster on how to be working ready.

Together as a group we designed a spider diagram stating various points that helps one be ‘learning ready’. After the initial production of the poster, we stood up and gave a short presentation on the different facts given on the paper. During the presentation different aspects of the paper was discussed and others were given the chance to ask questions on what we produced.

During the course of the day I also got to know the various different people in my class. We discussed our various backgrounds and various things we like to do.
