Today we learned about bribery and corruption within the workplace. We did research on the internet and then filled out a worksheet with our finds.
We also then went on to discuss the college policies and add it to our worksheet.
Sonia’s work
Today we started on customer service on unit 201 we got together into groups and completed the 6 question worksheet.
I also finished my 6 page unit 204 and uploaded both to one drive for my teacher to view and mark.
Working in organisation – Sonia
Today we did three tasks in sonia’s class on working in organisations.
We started by doing research on trainee jobs for IT around London. We found out that we can earn up to £26k a year and this is a job straight from school. We looked at the people specifications that certain jobs require for example an analytical mind or bright outlook.
We then went on to learn about hierarchy’s and created a chart detailing how a hierarchy is set up. We then created a mock hierarchy chart on the supposed business that we would join.

Powerpoint ali sharif cont.
Today I continued my power-point for the assignment for Ali Sharif. I finished creating the presentation and made screenshots of the slides as required for the assignments. I then showed what design, transition and animations I used.
Furthermore I added buttons and hyperlinks to to my presentation to give the user ease of access and navigation around my slideshow.
I also embedded a video into my slideshow to help give the viewer more information.
Powerpoint Assignment
Today I continued with my presentation for Ali Sharif’s assignment.
I implemented my design and introduced transitions to help give my presentation a professional look.
I will continue to make my presentation look more professional and start on animations and hyper-links next
Culture
Today we discussed about culture in Sonia’s class.
We started by getting into groups of three and had a group discussion about how culture affects today’s society. We also did a survey around the whole class asking about the different cultures they are and practice.
We ended by creating a 2 minute video talking about our finds in culture and how it affects society.
I then uploaded the video to drop box because it was too big to send by email and that was the end of the lesson.
Unit 208 cont.
Today we continued on unit 208 we concentrated on task 5 and also looked over all our other tasks to be sure that we are up to date and ready to hand our work in when the time comes.
Furthermore we started learning that we also have to do a practical which will commence next week. This is especially fruitful for the course and will enable all of us to achieve full marks.
Diversity
Today we learned about diversity in the workplace. We gathered in groups of three and discussed the many differences (diversities) in the workplace.
We discussed respect, diversity, individuality, differences and perspectives.
We wrote down points on each one and then sent them to the teacher who posted them on Lino post it board.
Finally we got set homework of taking a 2.5 minute video on a certain aspect of workplace diversity and then send it to the teacher.
E-Safety in PhotoShop
Yesterday I started on my E-Safety poster in Photoshop. I started by making it A3 size in landscape mode. This is equal to 1191 pixel Width and 842 pixels in height.
To start with I went looking for a background on Google images. I was in particular looking for a darkish background but one on which my words will stand out. Once I found an image I implemented it into my poster and then went about setting the title.
I styled the title completely using Photoshop and used the blending options to make it look better.
I then added in text again using the blending option to increase look and effectiveness and inserted an image centred.

Tasks 3 & 4
Today I continued work on unit 208 and took on tasks 3 & 4.
Task 3:
Task 3 was to recommend a speaker system, a sound card and a graphics card to a friend who is building a PC.
To get all this stuff I chose to use Amazon.
For the speaker system I chose the, Genius SW-G2.1 1250 GX Gaming 38W 2.1 Channel gaming speaker system.
The reason I chose this speaker system is because it’s a bargain for the price it was offered at and doesnt take up too much space making this an ideal choice.
For sound card I recommended the, Creative OEM PCI-E Sound Blaster Z Soundcard.
This sound card not only produces sound with amazing quality but comes at a great price which makes ideal especially for someone who is building their PC.
And finally for graphics card I recommended the, Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti Graphics Card (2GB, GDDR5, PCI-Express 3.0).
This graphics card is not rated best buy and number 1 seller for no reason. It comes at an outstanding price which totally rivals graphics cards at almost double its price range. It is very ideal for someone who is building his own PC and is definitely a recommendation if that PC is to be used for gaming.
Task 4:
Task 4 was all about upgrading and updating software and the procedure required to fulfil such an update/upgrade.
There were 7 questions in total.
The first question was to list down some resources required for an installation or upgrade. I wrote down enough hard drive space, enough RAM etc…
Second question was, Why is planning for an upgrade or installation important? I gave to make sure no errors is made during the process.
Third question was, What are the user privileges required for upgrades or installations? I gave some require admin while others don’t.
Fourth question was, Four reasons why a software is upgrade. I gave security patch, bug fix, new interface and support.
Fifth question was, What is the importance of structured procedures when installing or upgrading software? I gave to avoid errors.
Sixth question was, Why are records important? I gave to prove you are the owner of the software and to consult them i case of an error.
Seventh and final question was, List the stages involved in planning for a software installation and upgrade. I gave, Review the installation requirements, make sure you have the correct user privileges, locate the website to download the software and finally download the software and you are ready to install.
